I worked with a company from Montreal for this shoot. They contacted me through my website, which is always encouraging to know that people are seeing it. They were a nice group of people to work with, and I hope they come back to St. Louis again soon. We shot at Barnes Jewish Hospital but didn’t use any of the typical hospital locations. Instead, we filmed in the walkway between the two buildings.

The Vice President came to the Democratic event during the weekend, and saying the security was tight is an understatement. They kept hinting at using a teleprompter, which I was there at the ready in case they did. The prompter never happened, and I ended up working the show as a playback operator. It was still a good time. I’m on the right with the headset.

New York Mets

In 2011, I was on a job talking with a fellow employee that it would be awesome to see the Cardinals play in every ballpark. The other guy made it a point to tell me that I couldn't do it, and I turned that into the motivation I needed to make the ballpark tour possible, starting that Summer.
A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted about a job taking place in New York City during the month of June. After checking the Cardinals schedule against my travel schedule, it looked as though I'd be in New York at the same time as the Cards. It was as though the stars had aligned and I would get to see the Cards in the last ballpark I needed.
Enter Southwest airlines.
About the only realistic hurdle that could of prevented me from going to the game would of been a flight delay. As we waited at the gate, the intercom sounded off with bad news. It would seem that the plane we were scheduled to depart on, was unable to make it's flight to New York. They would have to find a replacement plane for us to fly on. After calculating travel times, it would seem that my final ballpark would be delayed another year.
The replacement flight was finally posted and it was still a long shot to make it on time. Then they bumped the depart time up another 30 minutes. Still it was a stretch considering New York traffic. About the only possible solution would be if the crew I was with would take my bags back to the hotel while I went to the game. I hate having to ask that from others, but this was a chance I couldn't pass up.
I have to say that this crew is so awesome. They were totally understandable to my situation and didn't even bat an eye to helping me out.
I completed my mission of seeing the Cards play in every park today. It's been a long journey and many have joined me along the way. I want to thank everyone that contributed to making this possible, and I'm happy to finally cross this off my lost of things I want to accomplish.
Time for the next adventure.

Rehearsal at Spot Studios

I had the privilege of participating in a teleprompter rehearsal at Spot Studio, and it was an absolute game-changer! The studio's state-of-the-art facilities and their attention to detail truly set the stage for an exceptional experience.

During the rehearsal, we were provided with two impressive 65-inch monitors strategically placed at the back of the room. These stunning displays served as the teleprompter screens, delivering crisp, clear text to guide the speakers with seamless precision.

The use of these large monitors made a significant difference in our rehearsal. The size and clarity of the screens allowed everyone in the room to easily read their scripts, eliminating any chance of misinterpretation or fumbling. It created an atmosphere of confidence and professionalism, ensuring that every speaker was able to deliver their lines flawlessly.

I look forward to future collaborations with Spot Studio and to leveraging their top-of-the-line resources for even more impressive presentations. Together, we will continue to raise the bar and deliver extraordinary performances that captivate audiences and leave a lasting impact.

A huge thank you to the entire Spot Studio team for an unforgettable teleprompter rehearsal. Your dedication and commitment to excellence are truly commendable!

This is the beginning of a job that is going to end up being a total of ten days. We are starting with rehearsal days here in St. Louis and we will end up doing the show live in New York later in June. I brought in a 46 inch monitor for a few of the days here in St. Louis, which was a bit of overkill for such a small room.

Here is my work station for five days while running teleprompter for the GEOINT Convention. They used some down stage monitors instead of my presidential glass, but at least I was able to use my laptops and software for this one. I really liked the switcher pictured on the left of the photo and thought I might want to get one for my business. A quick search showed that a new one was around 6k. That’s a nope. I might look into a Black Magic Mini switcher though, or something that is quicker than what I’m currently using.

I was on a game camera for the Cardinals against the Dodgers match up. Technically, I was on the Dodgers crew but the home show would use my camera as well. It was an awesome game full of home runs, 9 total to be exact. I loved how they took my camera every time the guy rounded 1st base on a dinger.

This job was the first time I was able to use my presidential prompter system. I worked 4 days for the commencements at Wash U but only one of those days called for my setup. Everything went off without a hitch! Unfortunately, a big storm came through the day before, and the chapel was hit by lightning. The lightning fried a lot of equipment, including the motors for the projection screen. Normally there would be a beautiful stained glass window in the background instead of that ugly screen.

I got some new gear for Teleprompter St. Louis LLC. The business cards I made using a screen shot from the TelescriptAV software. While they aren’t graphical amazing, they do show some creativity of being able to design in prompter software. The shirts are pretty basic as well but it’s nice to be able to show off my company while I work on jobs.

I was asked for my presidential prompter for this live event, which I brought, but quickly learned that this shoot required something completely different. The idea was to set up the glass to the side of the camera to which the talent would read off of. I had suggested that the camera mount system would work better, that is, until they told me they would be using one of their game lenses for the shoot. Luckily, I brought an external monitor, that I normally use as an extended display, which I was able to setup right below the lens. The client said it looked like they were looking right at the camera, so the problem was solved! Also, the guy on the left is an opera singer and listening to him sing in person was amazing.

Sometimes you have to take a break from work and go on a vacation. Here is a picture of me and my wife, Rachel, outside of Dodgers Stadium. I’ve been a big Cardinals fan my whole life and have taken up the task of seeing them play in every ballpark. This West Coast trip knocked out parks 28 and 29 as we also went to Oracle Park in San Francisco. My remaining park to go to is the Mets Citifield which I plan on going to by next year at the latest. It’s been a rough season for the Cards so far, but I have faith they’ll turn it around soon!
